For safety reasons, please note that the lounge's chimney is at the moment out of service. However, an ethanol fire has been installed in the fireplace for you to enjoy during the winter, and the ceramic woodburner on the ground floor is available for your use. We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you in advance for your understanding.
Please note this chalet is right on the main road between La Clusaz and La Balme.
The fireplace upstairs at the chalet has an ethanol fire.
There is a large farm building behind the chalet housing chickens which are out of doors in a large chicken run in the summer.
IMPORTANT: the hot tub is a Scandinavian bath. Instructions will be provided by the manager on arrival.

Sleeping up to 12 people in five comfortable bedrooms with four bathrooms (one with a hammam), there's plenty of room for everyone to relax at Chalet Patagonia.
Four of the bedrooms are on the ground floor - two doubles, a twin room (which can be made into a double if you prefer), which are all en suite, and a room with two sets of bunk beds. One of the en suite bathrooms has a hammam too!
There is also a small kitchen on this floor, which is useful for preparing food to eat in the garden. This kitchen has a huge impressive stove with built-in seating - the perfect place to warm up when you come in from the snow!
The fifth bedrooms, a large en suite double, is on the floor above, where you will also find the lovely open plan living area and a large family kitchen. There's a large dining table where you can all eat together, and cosy chairs around an ethanol fireplace. Why not grab a bottle of wine from the wine cellar (payable at the end of your stay) to enjoy on the sunny balcony?
The furnished terrace is the perfect place to catch some sun, enjoy a barbecue or perhaps relax in the Nordic hot tub after an active day in the mountains.

Skiers of all abilities can ski right back to the door of this perfectly-located self-catering La Clusaz chalet.
The ski bus stops 20m from the chalet and will get you to the nearest lifts in just a few minutes, putting the whole of the La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand ski fields at your disposal - more than 220km of pistes on one single ski pass.
The local ESF ski school holds beginnners lessons on the piste close to the chalet, so children can ski there and back safely, without having to cross any roads. Cross-country skiers will find great terrain at Lac des Confin and the Glieres plateau, just a short drive away.
It’s just a 20-minute walk to La Clusaz village, where non-skiers will find an ice rink, heated indoor and outdoor pools and spa centre and a cinema.
In the spring and summer, there are plenty of walks from the door of Chalet Patagonia, or you can take the lift up into the mountains for some high-altitude hiking or biking.
There’s a tennis club and riding centre just a few minutes’ walk away, and other activities within easy reach of La Clusaz include white-water rafting, canyoning, via ferrata and para-gliding.
The beautiful medieval town of Annecy, with a wide selection of shops and restaurants, is less than 30 minutes drive away. Its lake, the cleanest in Europe, is a great place for swimming and water sports, or just hire a boat and explore some of the peaceful lakeside beaches.

Every time we come to the chalet we feel as if we are wrapped up in a soft cocoon...
As a child I was lucky enough to go skiing every year with my parents and friends, and every year I was enchanted by the time we spent on the snow-covered slopes.
I have wonderful memories of returning from a great day on the pistes to a huge tea of delicious sandwiches and hot chocolate, long evenings playing cards and laughing together in front of the fire, and later, long discussions with friends, putting the world to rights.
La Clusaz was a favourite place to visit. Years later, my husband Pierre and I returned constantly as paragliding enthusiasts - flying over Lake Annecy, La Tournette, the Aravis mountains and Lachat in Le Grand Bornand, every time was as thrilling as the first.
We would end the hot summer days on the shores of Lake Annecy, swimming in the turquoise waters as the mountains towered above us.
In 2008 we started looking for our own home in La Clusaz, and were lucky to find Chalet Patagonia, a farmhouse built in the late 19th century. It wasn’t a typical property for the region, and was in a poor state, but we loved the area and its rural charm.
We resolved to renovate the building using the best materials and with the help of master carpenters and cabinetmakers.
We searched far and wide for old wood and stone. Old beams came from ancient Swiss halls, and the stone flooring came from Italy.
Finally, the ceramic stove came from Austria.
Hoping to recreate the warm, comforting, cosy winters of our childhood, we furnished the chalet with big leather armchairs, thick woollen fabrics for the curtains, and piles of fur cushions. The chalet is arranged to accommodate 12 people, with a maximum of 8 adults, so that everyone has their own privacy.
Three bedrooms are arranged as suites, with their own bathrooms. Two bedrooms, including the children’s bunk room, share a bathroom with a double stone sink and a shower-steam room.
The small kitchen on the ground floor means you can eat as soon as you get back from the slopes, warming your back against the stove. It’s also a good place to feed the children, or prepare a meal to eat outside on the sunny south-facing terrace.
Upstairs, the large living and dining area is a great place to get together for an aperitif with friends around the central fireplace. The large kitchen is well equipped, with two ovens and two dishwashers, perfect for preparing big dinners.
Every time we come to the chalet we feel as if we are wrapped up in a soft cocoon, away from the stresses of the outside world. We’d like to share this experience with you during your holiday, and hope you appreciate the quality of the renovation that, I think it’s fair to say, is quite exceptional. We loved our stay at Chalet Patagonia. The space, the deco, the big dining table... Great all around! Ski bus in the evening stop quite early (around 7:45pm) so it's better to have a car.

Chalet Patagonia is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We were a group of 6 adults and 2 children and we had a lot of fun in this chalet. It is very well located and we loved going back via the piste in the afternoon. We also loved the wood heated hot tub .... takes some time to prepare but great fun once you are in and there is something special to have to get the fire going to heat it up.The style of the property is great and the chalet has been very well thought off. Ski in ski out is great too and we loved the outside wood heated hot tub. Overall very nice place and very comfortable The things we liked in the area: views on the mountains and proximity to city centre.

Close to a path leading to the slopes. It is also located next to a poney club and a farm selling the famous Reblochon so very kids friendly. Laurent the manager is here to give you any tips about your stay. I definitively recommend this chalet for families.

“Splendid and luxurious chalet”
Even with so many people in our group, this authentic chalet has allowed to each one of us to have his own space and enjoy high-standing services. We felt at home and had a fabulous time. Thank you Laurent, the manager of the house, to be so flexible and helpful. Nearby we enjoyed lovely walks, sledging, skiing, horse riding, and easy access to shops. Icing on the cake: you won't have to remove the snow from your alley!!!
